“In October 1879 Rimbaud reached his twenty-fifth birthday, and his friends began to notice a change in him. Delahaye describes him at the end of 1879 as having considerably calmed down and subdued. He seemed to have lost all taste for alcohol and for excitement, and there was, in the expression of his eyes, something gentle and spiritual once more.. Rimbaud told Delahaye that his days of...

1996 Was A Great Year For Film
Over the summer my best friend and I made a list of our favorite movies that were released in 1996. I was 9 that year, so I didn’t see many of the PG-13 and R movies until I was older, but ratings and genre aside, I think we can all agree that 1996 was a great year for film. The Holy Longing
Tell a wise person, or else keep silent, Because the massman will mock it right away. I praise what is truly alive, What longs to be burned to death. In the calm water of love nights, Where you were begotten, where you have begotten, A strange feeling comes over you When you see the silent candle burning. Now you are no longer caught In the obsession with darkness, And a desire for higher...
The Merry Maid by Edna St. Vincent Millay
OH, I am grown so free from care Since my heart broke! I set my throat against the air, I laugh at simple folk!
There’s little kind and little fair Is worth its weight in smoke To me, that’s grown so free from care Since my heart broke!
