WHAT.THE.FUCK.

Is 911 some sort of elaborate joke to pacify people into wrongly thinking that someone is coming to help them while they’re being robbed, killed, or raped? This is the second time I’ve called Chicago police with legitimate fear for my safety and also the second time they have failed to show up at my apartment, or even DRIVE BY IT, for that matter. I am a 22 year old girl living in a not-so-great neighborhood in the city of Chicago, and it’s really disconcerting to know that when I call 911 and tell dispatch that there are men on my roof at 2 in the morning banging around on the walls of my apartment, the cops will do absolutely nothing about it.

I know this is a big city, and that there are gangs, rapes, murders, huge robberies, and all sorts of other crazy shit going on, but hear me out. Who is to say that the people on my roof tonight weren’t going to break in through my back door (which they clearly had access to on their way up to the roof), gun me down or violate me, and steal our shit? Granted, that didn’t happen, as I am currently alive to type this blog post, but FUCKING WHAT IF.

I am livid right now. I think I am going to file a complaint with the police department tomorrow. Anyone else have shitty experiences like this?? I am just afraid that if something really does happen the police won’t show up either…

Fuck you, Chicago PD. Protect and serve, my ass. :(
